Thomas not in the line up today.  I'll guess they figure giving him Monday-Thursday off will rest his back, then he may try to give it a go Friday.

Results of  MRI showed nothing major. He received an injection in his back and cannot play for 48 hours. Expects to play Friday or Saturday at the latest.

No report on Adams and something went wrong with his wrist. Hamate injury?

As good as a time as any to get hurt I supposed.   He should be all good well before any ramp up activities ahead of spring training.

on the IL to make room for Garcia. :(

Power is a huge chunk of his game, so this is a big set back. I suspect Millas will get a lot of time catching rest of the season to see whether there's a need to bring a vet as a backup next year.

Don’t guys coming back from that lose their power? At least the first year. He might end up in Rochester for next season.

Hassell basically had the same injury about a month later. Maybe he's just not as good, or maybe it's the post-injury adjustment, but it's a yellow light.

Gore to the IL with a blister, season probably done.

Maybe we’ll see Rutledge?

Let’s hope so.  A scout at a Harrisburg Senators game told me he’s the real deal.

Hassell seems to have lost the ability to hit, and not just his power. Hassell is hitting about .215 in Harrisburg.

Promote Rutledge, unless there is some Rule 5 rule that means Ward has to throw a p[itch for the Nats before the season ends.

Via Dougherty: Rainey coming up to throw a bullpen tomorrow.  Cavalli coming to Nats park this week and may play some catch.
