Truck Day is a big deal in Boston. It would be fun if it was here also.

I’m not sure it is in Boston anymore honestly.

Was the pretty decent crowd of yore there cheering them on?

Doolittle is a full-go for ST: https://www.masnsports.com/blog/back-on-minors-deal-doolittle-is-full-go-for-spring-training

He is a good man who he and his wife have totally adopted DC. I hope he does well.

with the Peralta and the Colome signings, they may end up with some competition for bullpen slots.

Not planning to rush to get one, but don’t seem horrible as much as yawn for the same color ones

I hope some day they do an interlocking DC Spring Training hat. Still the best logo they've ever had.

I have an old hat like that. Getting worn out.  Most folks don’t know it’s the Nationals so good conversation starter.

I've gotten fond of the logo with the block W over the Capitol outline.

Have you ever been less excited for a Washington Nationals season?

Svrluga ranks the excitement going into Spring training before each of the Nats camps.

Tops?  2005, of course, followed by the seasons after each of the first two playoff runs.

Bottom 3?  #17 - 2009 - Does the name Smiley Gonzalez ring a bell?  Coming off our first 100 loss season.  #18 - 2011 - not sure I'm with Barry on this one.  2010 had some improvement, and yes Stras was recovering from TJ, but the prior year had shown improvement. #19 - the least excitement and anrticipation?  Well, I don't want to be the spoiler, but . . . how do you feel?

Pitchers and catchers report tomorrow. Who remembers Spring Training, 1958?

For the most part my baseball enjoyment this year will come from rooting against teams like the Phillies and Mets. It will be interesting to see how Abrams, Meneses, Garcia and the young pitchers will do, but sometimes it's as much fun rooting against teams as it is rooting for teams.

I would love to find a new old stock version of this cap, the BP cap from 2005–06, if I remember correctly:

(Image removed from quote.)

I still have one.  And those were stretchy fit caps with a sort of dimpled texture.

Haha. Those ARE pretty bad. They look like cheap, unlicensed knock-offs.

Every win will be fun. And this is a good year to have MiLB.TV. And a good season to get to Fredericksburg, Wilmington, and Harrisburg.

(A food note: Wilmington has great cheese-steaks, just the same as in Philadelphia. My in-laws lived there, and we loved the Claymont Steak Shop, just north of Wilmington. See https://claymontsteakshop.com/)
