Is it even worth looking at team-wide stats in spring training? There's so much noise that it makes it meaningless.

Not as far as I can tell.

I wasn't even aware the Nats were competing in the WBC. At one point the game was advertised as being available on Tubi but is no longer showing.

Besides Cavalli starting, Elijah Green, James Wood, Brady House, Daylen Lile, Armando Cruz, T.J. White and Darren Baker are all scheduled to play.

here's the starting lineup:
1. Abrams SS
2. Thomas RF
3. Dickerson DH
4. Smith 1B
5. Ruiz C
6. Garcia 2B
7. Wood CF
8. Vargas 3B
9. Garrett LF

Played like schlemazels tonight. 9-0.  Gave up half a chai.  Cavalli got the loss but went 3 innings, 1 run, on 3 hits and a walk, with 6 Ks.  Ferrer in the 5th was the one who blew up for 4 runs, with Cronin saying "hold my beer" in the 9th for the last 4. Ruiz has a pick off.

Six Ks in three innings is nice.

Hmm, maybe we can try ncaa next.  There must be some league out there we can have success in.

of those, I guess the Alu move is the only one that plays into current roster speculation, at least as Camerato saw it.  Vargas is the obvious backup infielder, and I guess Downs / Chavis / Adams are in the mix for the 13th position player, along with perhaps Stone Garrett (who could be either the 4th or 5th OF).

This is totally unfair, but I have an irrational hatred of Travis Blankenhorn.  He has a dickhead first name, a dickhead last name, a dickhead face and hair, and I wish I had never become aware of his existence.  He's like a low-rent Josh Donaldson who isn't good at anything except looking like he got a piece of gravel from the trailer driveway lodged against his taint.

I think that lineup has the 4 guys at the bottom of the order competing for 1 roster slot, or maybe 5 guys competing for 2 slots if you don't think Call is a favorite for 4th OF.

Second straight solid outing for Edwards. Finnegan has had a great spring. The rest of the bullpen….not so much

Colome blew up. BFD, he's a non-roster invite.
