No, but you can also tell that Max is messing around with his timing. Any time a batter calls time, he's basically trying to quick pitch him right after. Nice to see the Nats hustle though

Mets would have been better off pitching Del Griffith instead of David Griffin.

RObles with another hit.

I gotta say, his approach and swing that entire at bat was pretty solid. He clearly wanted to go the other way. Didn't trying to murder it, and ended up with a double because of his speed.

But Garcia works a walk, judes the Meneses liner to get first-to-third, and scores. Call with a liner to RF caught by Canha at his shoe-tops.

Max wasn’t throwing very hard. Could be easing himself into shape or maybe showing signs of his age?

Adon a bit sharper this inning, although only that one bad pitch last inning. Error by Garcia abd then the 2-run homer.

Its March 2. Anyone who is putting any real value in any performance at this point is being silly.

there's a big difference between judging the performance of a proven vet, and the performance of young guys or those trying to make the team. Scherzer has the luxury to work on stuff in ST, especially this early.

Sure but most veterans are not 39 year olds who have shown wear and tear the past two seasons. Just raising the question.

way way too early to judge him. Judge him after his last ST start.

And it's finally over. 11-6 with Antuna adding in a homer.

Not judging him. I posed it as an either or question and said he might be easing in. It is kind of funny how he said he was going to use the pitch clock to his advantage and then was hurt by it today I am sure he will figure that part out.

Garcia got a walk and a home run today? I like the walk better than the home run.

Lol. Could be but Garcia's success will not come as a home run hitter, it will come when he is able to up his OBP more.

He can’t hit off speed.
