I have been spending a lot of time of late down the Feuerschwanz rabbit hole. The band was formed with the goal of having fun in a genre, medieval folk rock, known for bands who take themselves way too seriously. They describe their style as "Mittelalter Folk Comedy" (Mittelalter is German for medieval).

They are not actually a cover band - most of their songs are original - but they do a lot of light-hearted metal/rock covers of pop songs. For example, "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" from ABBA, with a video featuring Germanic warrior women capturing and tempting a group of monks.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-65167799   Of course, there are earlier recordings of the pre 'Fab Four' line-up (such as 'Live At The Star Club, Hamburg'). I suspect the program links won't work outwith the UK (apologies). The program only included brief samples - someone has kindly edited them together...

I seem to remember dismissing this band back in the 1980s, pigeonholing them as just another corporatized hair-metal band, but this is actually a pretty good slow blues riff.

They had a ton of great songs.  Their cover of babe I’m gonna leave you was incredible.

All of the recent accounts of Icelandic travel brought this classic to mind...

Somebody put Mountain Jam from live at the Fillmore East on the jukebox.  Other than that person, I maybe the only other person enjoying it

Four years ago tonight, we lost my father to pancreatic cancer. This song has been going around in my head all day today.

Pancreatic cancer stinks.

Hopefully good research makes a dent in it in the future. Because of increased risk for family, occasional CT scans w pancreas protocol are on the schedule

I'm hoping to get out on my bike today if I can get an OK from my doc. It's either that, or smoke a smelly cigarette, wear a beret, and lament Algiers.

While holding a dog-eared copy of Camus, or Sartre, which you've never read...

Glad to know you're getting there - ready to pedal... ;)

Here is the next song on the album. One of my favorites.

Think I will take a swing at learning to play Growin Up on the guitar over the next few weeks.  Chords look fairly simple.

This was from a 1975 concert. Before Born to Run came out. So some of those songs are a bit different from what you are used to.
