So i noticed the other day in iTunes that music from the 80's hair band Badlands was no longer available. For those of you of that era, Badlands was led by former Ozzy Ozbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee and former Black Sabbath lead singer Ray Gillen.  It turns out that Gillen got AIDS from drug use and infected multiple others, likely knowingly. There are still lawsuits pending against the band and the records are both out of print and not available on streaming services.

Details: http://albumsthattimeforgot.com/no-longer-available

They did put out a couple of great songs. This is probably their most famous:

And my personal favorite:

This is the only Badlands that matters.

Did you see him perform Thunder Road on Howard Stern a few weeks ago?

Thanks. I don’t watch Howard Stern.  Can’t believe he is still on in the MeToo age.

Got the Backstreets intro also. That’s probably my favorite.

Beatles are so weird to listen to now. So much of their stuff I don't consider to be rock now.  There were just too many geniuses pumping out all sorts of different kinds of sound, and the public was just so into them they turned anything they put out into top 40 at the time.  Songs like Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Penny Lane, All You Need is Love, etc...

You can understand why Jagger (also an f'ng genius outside of music) marketed mostly a sound that was harder and more a counter-point to the Beatles.

Yes, a lot of oldsters, ZdK.  Consider us your sherpas

I just recently got into Brian Wilson. He’s on a whole different planet. Check out the biopic with John cusack from a few years ago

Almost every song from them was great IMHO and I don’t want to turn it off when it pops up. Really can’t say that for anyone else. Maybe because it was playing in the house all the time when I was a kid and it’s ingrained in my memories. When we I hear Rubber Soul I am back at home in Christmas 1965. Revolver makes me channel doing homework. White Album I’m at our upstairs pool table with some of the neighborhood kids.
Signed
Methuselah.

Never really dawned on me the intended irony of starting "All You Need is Love" with an orchestral intro of La Marseillaise.

Remember this, as you pass by,
As you are now, so once was I,
As I am now, so you must be,
Prepare, my friend, to follow me... ;)
