I'm surprised by Candy's fielding but a little disappointed with his hitting. He's playing almost like Vargas with more pop. Think I'm kidding? Vargas 2022 with the Nats - .280 /.308 /.398 - .118 ISO. Candy 2023 - .226 / .274 / .379 - .153 ISO.
I'd prefer Kieboom not being a default at 3rd who gets rolled out regardless of how he's doing to see if he can eventually be a regular major leaguer. I prefer him to have to show that he can field the position and hit well again in the minors before his next call up. I prefer Jake Alu be given an equal shot at taking over the position. If Candy's doing well, then I might give him a bit of a leash to see if he becomes a trade asset, but if he is just a glove with a light bat, well, that's Vargas.
