As for the bottom feeders, it's a tough division, so every rung on the ladder up the AL East is kind of an accomplishment - 5th to 4th, 4th to top 3, 3rd to 1st/2d, winning it.  That said, with some health from Sale and Paxton, that's a very nice rotation - Sale, Kluber, Paxton, Pivetta, Bello or Whitlock.  Xander is a big hole, but they may have strengthened their talent in 3 other positions (CF with a healthy Ki-ke', 1st with Casas, and LF with Yoshida).  Turner and JD should be about a wash.  Both Bello and Casas had decent peripherals.  Health is really going to be the big  issue.  I think they are a bit more of a mystery than a write off.

When I originally made it I was going to say something about the Nats being 29 but then I thought what's to say, they're where they're supposed to be. Then after I posted I realized it should of been in the general section.

I assume the red sox get a bundle from TV. They regularly fill up the stadium. The sox fans aren't going to accept being in the bottom of the division after getting used to winning so much.

Seems like the first time in a long time the Dodgers are as low as 7. I guess even the big money teams have a hard time going over the cap for too many years before they need to cut back, even if it's just a little to get under the cap for a year.

If I were an O's fan I wouldn't be happy they didn't spend more this offseason to improve. With the young talent they have if they had signed a couple of guys they could have easily been in the top 10.

seems like an upside-down world when the Mets are ranked higher than the Yankees and the White sox higher than the Cubs.

I saw a preview of the Angels and they talked about Ohtani and Trout. The addition of Drury and somebody else. They never even mentioned Rendon.

Seems about right for the Nats. We saw the Pirates outclass Washington. So did Miami. And the rest.

It is a thin thread to hang by Gray, who gives home runs like Santa Claus giving gifts, and Cade Cavalli who has not pitched a single good game in the majors, and Mackenzie Gore, who is a hopeful because he has not pitched in Washington. And a field lineup that features Victor Robles, one of the worst regular outfielders ever to wear a Washington uniform. And the amazing Kieboom, who has never found a position he could play.

We're not really trying to win, and don't have a lot of incentive to tank, so we're signing a couple of guys that make us at least sort of/kind of look like a major league team that people might feel worth spending some money on a ticket and 3 hours of their day to watch.   We probably won't finish last, but our ceiling is like 25th at best.   The last seasons of the expos were more fun than this.

Maybe Max has an otherworldly second wind in him, but watching him late in the season and playoffs for a few years now, he doesn't look capable of making 20-25 good starts and having anything left for the playoffs.   Also old man back and neck injuries seem to be catching up with him.
