Surprising that Lipscomb is still in low-A after his spring. House is there again as is Denaburg.

Roster includes Marquis Grissom! Ah, a CF who could hit: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/grissma02.shtml

This Grissom, though, is his son, a pitcher.

Also Jarlin O. Susana, Armando Cruz, Jared McKenzie, and TJ White.

8 of the top 30 are at Fredricksburg: Wood, House, Susana, TJ White, Cruz, Lara, Lipscomb, and McKenzie. Should be a fun team to watch. And as some of those guys move up, Green, Aldo Ramirez, Brenner Cox, Daylen Lile, Roismar Quintana, Jake Bennett, and Vaquero will hopefully graduate from rookie ball to replace them. Good times this year in Fredricksburg.

Indeed! Wilmington and Harrisburg are within (my) easy range to drive, but Fredericksburg has a great TV announcer.

Does anyone who’ll be Fred’s starting pitchers for this weekend’s home games?  I can’t find any announcements. Thanks!

Fredericksburg has lost Joey Zanaboni, their brilliant play-by-play man.

A Zanaboni sampler:

Seems like Joey will be broadcasting MLS games for their St. Louis team.

still shows TBD. I'd assume Denaburg and Susana will be among their top 3.

Bennett pitched brilliantly tonight. Brady House just hit a two-run homer to give Fred a lead, and then Elijah Greene bashed a line drive off the LF wall. Some power...

Glad to see Brady out of witness protection.

“Brilliant” for Bennett is an understatement. Only runner allowed was an infield single. No walks, 8 Ks, 1 hit. 5 scoreless innings. I was surprised they lifted him after 5 with only 60 pitches, but I guess they want to start these guys slowly. He was completely dominant.

Well I missed Susana.  He’s pulled after 2. 4 runs. 4 hits. 4 walks. 2 Ks. I’m sure he will take a little time to adjust. Just a baby.

Fayetteville has a weir stadium. No wall behind home plate.  Just a screen. So you see the entire bodies of the people in the front row.

Being no hit through four and a half. Both House and Green have each struck out twice.

Lile with an RBI triple on the 6th. But then House strikes out again after being ahead in the count 3-0. Swing late at a 3-0 fastball.

Is it more distracting for us, or for opposing players?

Well not our stadium but I would think it wound take a little getting used to for pitchers?

And now Green strikes out for the third straight time.

Down 0-2, House avoids the Golden Sombrero by lining an opposite field HR. His second of the year. Now Green’s turn after a pitching change.

Wow. Green avoids the Golden Sombrero after a generous call by the home plate ump. A couple pitches later lines a hit to right center. CF misses the ball and Green tries to score.   But thrown out at the plate. He thought his hand was in. No replay.

Fred Nats strike out 16 times and lose. Speaking of Golden Sombreros looks like the Nats affiliates will go 0-4 tonight.
