Thanks for this. Already have my Harrisburg OD tickets. Looks like some interesting names on the roster to start the season.

Roster lists only eight pitchers, four infielders, and six outfielders. OF includes Robert Hassell III and Jeremy De La Rosa, so that's a pair to watch. Millas is their catcher.

Jacob Young and Trey Lipscomb with two RBIs, Yong with a 2-run homer. Wood no hits yet, but has walked twice and struck out once.

so when do you adopt Jacob Young as your next Darren Baker?

Seriously, him, Lipscomb, and Baker are showing that it's not just about the tools-monsters.

I was impressed by Jacob Young. Had never watched him seriously because he is not famous, but he is only 23 and hitting .300.  The rest of the Senators were a mix of players who had failed, like Casey and Cluff, and players I didn't really know. Plus some godawful pitching.

First game with the 2024-25 Nationals (minus Crews) was a dud:
https://www.milb.com/gameday/senators-vs-baysox/2023/07/18/724214#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=724214

Wood/Hassell/House combined for 1-10, BB, 3Ks (Hassell had the only hit), Lipscomb also had a hit. Jacob Young was 0-3.

Interestingly, Hassell was in LF, Young in CF, and Wood in RF. Lipscomb DH'd.

I wonder whether Lipscomb's path to the majors is as a 1B with House now at AA. You don't like to move a guy off 3rd to 1st until he shows he can't play there, but with House now advancing, Lipscomb will probably not get the bulk of the PT at 3rd.

Is he a Doctor Strangeglove guy, or can he perhaps try 2nd?

quite possibly. Or the other way around if Lipscomb is the better fielder. MLB.com grades them equally in the field.

Talknats:
Quote
The Harrisburg top prospects just all got on base safely in the 6th inning via walks by Robert Hassell III and Brady House and a double by James Wood. House has 2 walks in the game and Hassell is 1-2 with a walk. Frankie Tostado cleared the bases with a double missed a grand slam by a foot.

All that matters is that he makes regular starts and stays healthy

I feel like we’re talking about Rutledge last season.

Pretty much. Success rate of TOS isnt great. Gotta get Henry settled and rehabbed before seing what we have. Sucks, but success this season is measured by how much/little time he spends on the IL

Big hitting day, although more for the guys we don't expect to be stars. Young with a 3-run homer, Cluff 3-for-4 with a homer. One hit for Hassell, one for Wood, House 2-for-5. Leading 10-3 in bottom of the 9th.
