Holy guacamole  :lmao:

I'm a bit surprised that FIFA has stuck with the top two advancing when they could make it much more complicated like UEFA has at the Euros.

6 groups of 6, 5 qualifying games, top 2 plus next 4 on points, regardless of group. 6 games a day every 3 days, so a bit over 2 weeks of the qualifying round.

There were many complaints about holding the tournament in the middle of league seasons versus the summer. Buy I wonder if the product is better at this time rather than in the summer after long league seasons? Or in other words maybe they should always have it at this time of year.

And if Mbappe and Griezmann were on the field it's a hell of a B-team!

Only for the last 15 minutes, or so. Until then it had illustrated the lack of depth (thanks to injury) of the French squad - they were surprisingly woeful, hence why Deschamps had to change his plan to rest the first-team, to try and save the game... ;)

And after the earlier tournament excitement, Argentina and Poland both progress, as expected...(although someone made a bit of a Messi of the penalty...[sorry,,,] )  ;)

Respect to Morocco - finishing top of their group ahead of two previous WC semi-finalists... :D

Classy move, by the Croatian coaches, to comfort De Bruyne at the end of the game...

Local angle on Pulisic also as his parents played soccer at George Mason.

Not sure about the quality but the tournament has been lots of fun. Unexpected results on many matches.

Why can’t Fox just keep the score of the concurrent game posted in a corner of the screen?

Was flipping back and forth for the end of both games.  Hoping to catch replays tonight.

It (surprisingly) took a bit of finding, but my Team USA pre-match shirt (the tie-dye one) arrived today. Really good... :D

(the official Team USA store won't ship to the UK...).

There's probably a whole heap of delicious schadenfreude being snorted in bars across Italy.

I would love to see Poland cause a bookie mass extinction event by beating France  :D

I'm half German and cannot even bring myself to root for them.

How are the mighty fallen..it doesn't seem that long ago since Gary Lineker's famous quote - 'football is a simple game - 22 men in shorts kick a ball around, for 90 minutes, and then the Germans win...'  ;)

Ok. Looks like Korea goes though based on goals scored?

Watched the replay of that last goal and was like 2 on 5.  Great play by the Koreans or bad coverage for Uruguay.  Uruguay should just let Argentina annex them.
