I wonder if the Iranians have prepared the gallows to welcome back their team

Maybe Ben Afleck can arrange for their rescue?

US looks a bit better than they did in Lyon in '98.  Lalas rode the pine in that game as I recall, never even took off his vest.

Wright looked totally lost out there and he just came in. Good no call there. A win is a win.

I just read about how the coach cut Harkes from the team for having an affair with Wunalda’s wife. Never consulted the senior players.

They seem able to score at will against everyone except this one country.

Senegal (19:00 GMT / 14:00 ET Sunday).  Good job by Team USA  - Berhalter made appropriate tactical changes. As the Global Powerhouse just didn't try, the Orangemen will be your sternest test, so far... ;)

Don’t think they can do it without Pulisic. Seems one of those guys always hurt.

Speaking of the GP V USA game, I note that FIFA are to introduce a rule change, for USA 2026, that Group games can no-longer end in a tie - so no more 'point'll do'...

With so many countries qualifying we should be seeing Faroe Islands, Malta, and the newly proclaimed Kingdom of Florida

KoF? National anthem? You are Like a Hurricane, and not in the good way.

What was the story with Pulisic?

The tv guys said he went to the hospital with abdomen issues from the contact when we scored.

So - how long before the Iranians claim:

1. They didn't try too hard, against the S&S, to show their support for the protesters at home...

2. England didn't try against the S&S, to make it more likely that the USA would qualify, so it's a Western conspiracy... ;)

One for the trivia buffs - the band took their name from a line in the song 'Toiler On The Sea' by The Stranglers (from the 'Black & White LP)... ;)

Texas might qualify too!  (They have some awfully good football players).   (Pass the crisps!)

Pulisic was down for a long time on the field.  I couldn't believe that he returned to play the remainder of the first half.  It's really a shame we probably won't have Pulisic back for the Netherlands.  Josh Sargent also left late in the second half with an injury.
