Never occurred to him to tell his teammate to get back to his dorm and ready to play in the next game. It's a strange world.

yeah, that would have been the prudent thing to do.

Nate Oats brought in Ray Lewis to talk to the team after one player murdered a woman and another served him up the murder weapon, so the program is really on the up and up.

Yale comes from way behind to beat Princeton and now in a three way tie including Penn. Quakers have won six in a row in the league. I believe all three have qualified for the tournament. Brown, Cornell and Harvard battling for the final spot. Tournament is at the Princeton barn this year.
Yale has clinched an Ivy tourney spot and would wrap up 1 seed with a win over Cornell and  princeton and Penn losses.

Next weekend will be interesting. Penn and Princeton play and then might match up again the very next week on same court for the tournament.  Brown will be playing Yale probably with opportunity for spot number four. Not sure what their tiebreaker is with Cornell should they tie.

Villanova finally has its full lineup back together. Including Justin Moore who had been out since being hurt in the Elite Eight last year. They easily beat #19 Creighton yesterday. Probably too far off the bubble to make it unless they win their tourney.

Could be the first time in like 50 years without a Big Five team in the NCAA.

If Yale beats Brown and Cornell beats Columbia, then it is complicated. I haven't looked at the tie breakers. Yale gets #1 in that scenario and the league title is split 2 ways. Brown wins, then they are #4, and the Penn princeton winner geys the title and #1.

Edit - I think if Brown loses to Yale, then Cornell gets in with a tie because Cornell split with the top seed and brown would have lost twice. Brown wins or Cornell loses, brown is in.

Ok. Hoping Penn gets number one. I believe that’s an automatic NIT berth of you don’t win the tourney.

Wonder what Dingle will do next year. He has said he will stay at Penn but seems he should be testing himself against higher level competition.

Edit. If Princeton beats Penn I will root for Yale Saturday night.

So UMD is pretty good. Especially at home. Beat up Northwestern today. Moves them into a tie for 2nd in the B1G.

Conference tournaments underway with the Atlantic ASUN. I didn’t even know there was a Queens College of Charlotte let alone that they had a division one team.  Kennesaw St won the regular season but Liberty is the favorite

Watched a couple of games tonight.

American beat Bucknell is a close one in DC.  They were the higher seed but had lost to the Bisons twice this season.  Johnny O'Neill is an impressive freshman.  Hit some threes and then a key reverse layup when Bucknell had cut it to one with about 20 seconds left,  The next possession he blocked a shot to preserve the lead and hit two clinching free throws.  Next up AU travels to Navy on Thursday.

Kennesaw St. hung on to beat Queens in the ASUN.  Queens was apparently ineligible for the NCAA tourney anyway; they have not done enough groveling in front of the NCAA demigods.

Both the Patriot League and ASUN have all the games on campus. Requires a more spread out tourney but probably a better deal for these smaller conferences and guarantees a good atmosphere.  Seems to give the higher seeds an advantage also.

I miss the days of Gary Williams at AU.

Was his path AU to BC to Ohio State to Maryland?  He had great results at BC, but he basically lived off Tom Davis's recruits and constantly had his resume out. Killed recruiting.  Jim O'Brian had a total rebuild but managed to do it before he too left. Al Skinner came in and had a good run for a number of years.  During the Big East years, BC was a good path to build a resume.

Radford's coach blew a 0.25 and got himself a DUI arrest. He has been suspended until March 6, which means he won't coach in the Big South tournament.

Sigh....

Crazy game in Fairfax. George Mason was up on Fordham by the score of 23-16 at the half. It went to overtime, and Mason pulled it out, 64-58.

Couple of exciting quarterfinals in the Patriot League with the service academies. Army comes back to tie it late on a three and then wins in OT.   American leads most of the way but then Navy has a chance to win it but fumbles the ball and is forced to a desperate heave that does not go. They take on Lafayette next. Army meets top seed Colgate.

Radford and Winthrop in a good one in the last Big South quarterfinal.  Didn’t realize that Murray State moved from the OVC to the MVC. They lost tonight so maybe they should have stayed in the OVC. Tomorrow will be a wild day as a few more conferences get underway.

Yes. They took control late in the first half.  I see they have a transfer from Villanova.

Turned on Southeast Missouri against number one seed Morehead State in the OVC.  Morehead led most of the way but hit a long cold stretch and appear on the way to a loss.

Yeah, Entertainment & Sports arena.

Anyone ever been there? Looks like parking is non-existent and Metro is the only real option.
