I think the committee had a hard time because there were probably 20-25 teams who realistically had a chance at the title. So to me not much to choose between the top 5 seeds. There were no teams that really dominated any of the Power 5 conferences. Houston only had 3 losses but would have had more in any of the Power 5.  The only real shocker to me among the Final Eight is FAU and now they are going to the Final Four. They got a break getting FDU in round two.  Not the old days where you had a few teams with 1-2 losses over a year.

Yes. In the coaches poll.  Teams in the lower echelon conferences will never get the good seedings because they won’t have enough quadrant one wins. And the Power 5 will not schedule against the better teams from these conferences. So take that Power 5.

Was reminded this morning dad the UCLA team that made the Final Four in 2021 was an 11 seed that had to win a first four game. Same as George Mason, VCU and Loyola in their more publicized Cinderella runs. FAU two seeds above those guys.

UConn was 14-0 and highly ranked and then lost 6 of 8. Rebounded later in the season. Talent was always there to be one of the top teams.

Wild finish. Ugly game were defense dominated. The Vegas underdog won although they were the higher seed. Will be interesting to hear an explanation of the call in that final play. Don’t understand the ruling.

I didn’t see Bradberry hold in the Super Bowl either!!

Watching the post game and the Creighton player hand clearly was on the waist of the SD State player. Whether it affected the shot is a judgment call. 

They explained the ending. They did a manual count because the official scorer did not start the clock quickly enough when the pass touched players.

Great comeback by Miami.  And how about Miller. 7 for 7 from the field and 13 of 13 from the line. Talk about clutch

The good news is that I am in the 99th percentile with my bracket at ESPN. The bad news is that my ranking is 181,000.

Lady Hokies make the Final Four. First time. Lady Terps lose to the probable champs South Carolina. My fellow Temple alum Dawn Staley has built quite the program there.  Which she could come back to Temple and coach the men’s team.

There must have been, but I can't think of any tournament teams.  At this point, tbh, it's getting a little weird.  I suppose a Staley or a Freese make enough $$$ so the Ionas of the world (schools that take  basketball seriously but are outside the power conferences) probably can't outbid a major program from a state school, but you'd  figure concepts, drills, strategy etc... would transfer. I also suppose that, when you are on a run like Staley, you maybe want to keep it self perpetuating. I'm sure that figured into Geno Auriama's thinking in UConn's prime.

Yea. Staley has it made at SC. The big schools would not want to take a chance on her and she would not want the smaller schools. Her name surfaced for the Temple vacancy but only because that’s her alma mater.

Temple? Dawn Staley went to UVA—she played on the outstanding women's teams of the early 1990s with the Burge twins, Tammi Reiss, Dena Evans, and Jenny Boucek. I remember those years well, especially 1992 because I remember going to the games when they played the NCAA regional in Charlottesville, UVA won (beating Vanderbilt) to go to the Final Four, and old University Hall was as loud as I'd ever heard it. They never managed to win the national championship, though.

I believe Staley coached at Temple before going to Carolina. I don't know the details, but apparently she has some hard feelings with some people in the UVA administration (current or past, I have no idea) and thus won't consider returning to Charlottesville.
