Looks like that should have been goalie interference. Would have just prolonged the misery for Carolina though.

Dallas arena empties in the third period. Just an awful fan base.

Went to Europe and the NHL playoffs seem to have stopped. Do they plan to complete them this year or does Bettman have another brilliant idea?

Vegas is chewing up and spitting out opposing goalies on this run. And somehow Jack Eichel's head is still attached.

The Pontiac Aztek would have been good if it had been traded away by the Flames.  But Florida is otherwise bereft.  Yuck.

Disappointing to see Florida turn into Dallas at the end. I lost track of the number of 10 minute majors. The count was 7 on Florida, including two on tkachuck and five on Vegas.

FWIW, 10-minute penalties are misconduct penalties. Five-minute penalties are majors. One significant difference is that a misconduct penalty doesn’t result in the offender's team playing shorthanded (except, of course, to the extent it has a minor or major attached to it—so if you get two for roughing plus ten, your team plays shorthanded for two minutes if the other team doesn’t have a corresponding penalty).

Was going to add that. So were the penalties majors or misconducts?

Sounds like Bob reverted to years past playoff form.

Misconducts. My error above.

Heck of a finish. And then all hell breaks loose   Two holtby-esque saves at the end.

Not only has Florida not yet scored a PP goal in this series, they just gave up a shorthanded goal.

2-0 after the Florida goalie's stick makes a save without being attached to the goale and Vegas eventually knocks it in.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a team pull its goalie with 6 minutes left.

Hershey Bears won in overtime in a game far more interesting than the NHL game. Bears trail 2–1 in the Calder Cup Finals.

With the possible exception of Game 3, those were remarkably awful Cup finals.  Meh.

The ending of game 4 was pretty insane as well. VGK's defense throughout these playoffs was really good, so much so they cruised through the playoffs with their backup goalie (though he did make a number of fantastic saves) and knocked out one of the better offenses in NHL history in four games.

Commentators were noting last night that any of their defensive lines would be 1 or 2 on any other team. It was nice to see Marchessault get the Conn Smyth though it could have easily gone to Hill, Stone, or Eichel.
