Made it through 2 OTs. Too late a finish for me. Panthers 8 straight OT wins. Bob has been great.

I remember watching the Caps two 4OT games. The second of those, the "Petr Nedved game," was at the time the third-longest game in NHL history. Now it's the sixth-longest, as last night's game was about 31 seconds longer. We turned it off after the first overtime. Glad we didn't try to stay up. I wouldn't have been able to stay awake anyway.

My comment further up the thread about the 1987 game against the Islanders being the 11th-longest game was correct when I made it three days ago, but now it's the 12th-longest. What's interesting about all these long games in recent history is that the 1987 game was the first game since 1971 to go to a third overtime and the first since 1951 to go to a fourth. So there have been a good number of 4OT games (and three 5OT games) in the years since 1987 after there having been none for some 36 years.
