Depends on if those guys stay healthy and what Philly does
Don’t forget the Braves. They keep producing good players.

Confirmed per MLBTR:

Quote
The Mets are in agreement on a contract with Justin Verlander, reports Andy Martino of SNY. Former ball player Carlos Baerga reported last night on Instagram that the Mets and Verlander had a two-year, $86.8MM deal. Baerga reported that there was a mutual option for 2025 but Martino says it’s a vesting option. According to Jon Heyman of The New York Post, the two-year deal is worth $86MM, but the details on the option aren’t yet publicly known.

And Rick Porcello ironically retires today

Verlander close to the Mets. 2 years, 86.8 million

MLB.com now reporting this deal - so it can't possibly be happening....   ;)

Full no-trade clause. He turns 30 in June, so he's there until the end of his age 41 season.

Congrats to him.  I would have suspected a contract closer to what Rendon / Strasburg got, but the Phillies sort of tacked on 4 extra years at $55 million.

This seems incredibly team friendly.  Maybe he just doesn't care about the money any more just so long as it's more or less the right number of zeroes give or take a couple.

IIRC he had previously said that it was LA or nowhere for him after his last deal expired.

different sport, but Al Horford just extended for 2 more years at $10 million each to play through 2025-26.  I think he might be in his 40s at the end of the deal. This should leave money on the table for either Grant Williams or a lux tax mid-level exception

Heyman says the giants have made a “huge” offer to judge. More than $40 million AAV?

Andew Heaney to the Rangers, 2 years / $25 million plus up to $12 million in incentives.

Career year in 2022, but Corbin-like numbers prior to that and a career 4.56 ERA

https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/heanean01.shtml

Maybe Corbin does have value?

He would have been a perfect signing for the Nats.  If he hits you can trade him for soemthing of value at the deadline.

Wheeler is a free agent after 2024.  So this helps them bridge that also.  Expect Nola to be upped soon.  It may be the best time for the Nats to be bad as the Phillies/Braves/Mets will be juggernauts the next few seasons.

Oh cmon.  It's one year.  Are you going to pretend the Cubs are a contender?  A million more would have done it.

One of the SF chronicle beat writers tonight says there’s a lot of rumbling that Judge is coming to the Giants. They signed Mitch Haniger as well to a 3 year deal

I really like this signing.

Probably because I was thinking that Walker was a great fit for the Phillies
