Top 2022-2023 Free Agents By Position
« Topic Start: October 10, 2022, 08:21:59 PM »
For the most part try to stay away from older guys:

Catcher - Wilson Contreras
First Base - Josh Bell (Not strong field)
Second Base - Kolton Wong (Not strong field)
Shortstop - Trea Turner (Loaded position again)
Third Base - Nolan Arenado (Not close)
Left Field - Andrew Benintendi
Center Field - Aaron Judge
Right Field - Mitch Haniger
DH - JD Martinez (Only position I'd take an older guy)
Starting Pitcher - Carlos Rodon (Phils will probably pick up Nola option. deGrom, Kershaw and Verlander are too old)
Relief Pitcher - Edwin Diaz (no brainer)

The Nats are not going to sign any of the big name guys. Think budget choices.

That would be a major embarrassment for the Yankees to get outbid for Judge. I can't see how they could let that happen. Judge bet on himself and it's going to pay off big time.

if you want to talk great but ain't happening, the ultimate troll would be for the red Sox to sign him
All the folks in the judge robes and wigs in his court section of yankee stadium, . So not happening. More likely is the NYY getting Devers in a year

Noted dickhead Correa couldn't wait until his old team was done playing in the playoffs to announce he's opting out in Minnesota to the surprise of absolutely nobody.  Perhaps the "news" will be greeted with the banging of some trash cans instead of the silence it deserves.

Is the plan in New York to just pay Judge whatever he wants? Seems like the current Steinbrenners are more fiscally conservative than their old man, how real is the risk that he goes elsewhere?

If Cohen or the Dodgers offer $50 million more? Who know?

Saw one article that if Judge were to sign with LA, Turner could be headed for the NYY.

the funny thing is that, with Trea already looking clean cut with no beard and short hair, he sort of looks like a Yankee already. Judge does too, just a very tall Yankee.

i guess there's no hope that we sign Turner to play 3rd and Rondon?

Doing so might make us contenders.

Were a new ownership deal in principle signed by this afternoon with the MASN matter settled or accepted to the satisfaction of the new ones, and the word back from the ownership committee was that approval was virtually guaranteed this off-season, then maybe.

Dreaming.....
1. Thomas RF
2. Turner 3B
3. Meneses 1B
4. Voit DH
5. Ruiz C
6. Garcia 2B
7. Abrams SS
8. Nimmo LF
9. Robles CF

Rotation: Rondon, Gray, Gore, Cavalli, Bassitt

That's not terrible.
