Loving listening to Costas and Darling stepping into and out of it in the 10th. Foul ball picked up by a youngster down the line. Costas: "picked up by the ball person. What's the proper term now? Ball attendant?" Darling: "I don't know but I am leaving it there." Costas: "good point. " then there's a fly that drops in center. Darling: "like we said, the IndGuardians hustling on the play..."

4-2 into the bottom of the 10th.

Clase starts the 10th after getting the last out of the 8th and going the 9th. Long fly, then walks Donaldson

Phillies can’t hit Strider. I don’t know if anyone can hit Strider. Adding him and Acuna for the post season this year seems unfair.

Clase throws 34 pitches and gets Ikf on a grounder for the final out. Still hit 100 with the cutter on pitch 33

I think it's absurd for fans to get pissed at players for leaving as free agents. There aren't too many jobs where you don't get any choice in where to work for six years (and that's leaving aside your time in the minors) and you can't leave for a competing employer no matter how badly they treat you. That's a long effing time to be stuck in a place you may never have wanted to be in the first place.

I've wondered how to pronounce the Phillies catcher for a while. I've heard Spanish pronunciation and more Anglicized. Turns out, he goes with the Anglo pronunciation, ree-ahl-myu-toe.

Jacob Tyler Realmuto is a native of Oklahoma. Over-pronouncing his name in a Spanish manner would be like insisting on pronouncing Charles Nagy's surname as "nodge," like Imre Nagy. Which I sometimes did.

I also pronounced Chuck Knoblauch's surname, which means "garlic" in German, in the German manner when I was feeling pedantic. Otherwise I called him Charlie Garlic.

I wonder if anyone ever told Bob during Ryan's and/or Jordan's time here that "Zimmermann" is German for carpenter?

Brings to mind the post-2011 Cards sans Pujols.

Also, the difference maker last year for the Braves was their ability to put up runs in the playoffs. Look at the difference in the Phillies with Kevin Long there

My last name is completely Anglicized in terms of spelling. However, subsequent to my grandad adopting the spelling and pronunciation, another person with a similar name became famous in my home town, so folks would always pronounce and spell my last name name like him.
