What a meltdown by Toronto. The announcer said you don’t want to use your closer in game two if you don’t have to. Then they are forced to bring him in with guys on base and it backfires.
Both early games were...dramatic
I'll beat the dead horse here, but that game was damn near over until they pulled Gausman, who had just gotten most of the way out of a bases-loaded-no-outs, for a dude who wouldn't be in the majors if he threw with his right arm. Don't put bad pitchers in with the bases loaded and you'll give up a lot fewer runs.
Would we have made it through in this format in 2019?
