Mariners getting all the breaks. Pitch was 6 inches outside and called a strike.

Both early games were...dramatic
What a meltdown by Toronto.  The announcer said you don’t want to use your closer in game two if you don’t have to.  Then they are forced to bring him in with guys on base and it backfires.

Long though. About 9 hours in total.

I'll beat the dead horse here, but that game was damn near over until they pulled Gausman, who had just gotten most of the way out of a bases-loaded-no-outs, for a dude who wouldn't be in the majors if he threw with his right arm.

Don't put bad pitchers in with the bases loaded and you'll give up a lot fewer runs.

This.  All of this after the Mariners had left Sewald out for an eternity and they were able to run the score up in the 6th.

Oh hey it's Morejon, the can't-miss prospect who flopped so transparently that even Preller couldn't trade him!

What was it I was just posting about pitchers who wouldn't be in the majors if they threw right-handed?

Would we have made it through in this format in 2019?

You want to know why games take so long?

This is why. Some jerk reliever wanders in from then pen and takes fifteen minutes (literally) to throw 26 pitches to three batters and record zero outs.

I'm no genius but I'm pretty sure when you've thrown 27 pitches and haven't gotten anyone out, it's not going well.

So that's a wrap on twenty-two minutes of real-world time with 29 pitches (you do the math) and zero outs recorded.

Should pull Diaz. Asking him to go out for the 8th means you lose him tomorrow, and you have to win both games. It's low lev now.
