Smoltz is out to strangle baseball, to choke the game with words. There is no tension in the broadcast. Go for the high strike, go for the low strike, the pitcher is opening too much, on and on. Smoltz might be worse that FP at FP's worst -- when FP would make a point and then repeat it three times just in case. Smoltz doesn't repeat himself...he just blabs about pitching mechanics throughout any tense moment in the game.
