Painful rally by the Barves.  The squib  by Espino and Meneses then a fly over the head of Lane.

That was enough for Paolo at two outs.

Espino is being asked to do something he's bad at. If you put him and Abbot in the pen as long relievers, the pen would. E very good

you wonder if they had another starter, would they be well off using those guys in bullpen / short opener then long man games.  If you figure 4 starters next year are Gore / Gray / Cavalli / Corbin, then using that pair for the 5th slot could work, especially if you want to leave possible Stras making some appearances.

Unless baseball reduces its schedules or increasing roster size, single inning relievers will only be high leverage and I would expect teams to move towards more multi-inning relievers.

Anyway, you can't plan around Stras. Pencil him in for your nunber 5 spot. He gives you innings, awesome. If not, put him on the IL and call up the next person.

Apparently a Braves fan got into a scuffle with an usher in the 8th and bit him.

The fan ought to be put down to test him for rabies.

The Nats should have several Metropolitan Police officers at the park, the way the NYPD patrols Yankee Stadium. In The Bronx, stewards are the first line, telling fans to behave. If the fans don't, the steward waves down a couple of police, real police and not rent-a-cops. And that's the end of trouble, and troublemakers.

This Braves fan should be in jail.

Correction by Jesse D in tweet: not a Braves fan. Was yelling obscenities at Marcell Ozuna, and both Braves and Nats fans complained. Fan was arrested (good!) and taken to jail (great!)

Met fans, a low-life bunch, caught Kevin Frandsen teasing Pete Alonso about the body-armor he wears to bat and the complaints he makes after being hit.
