He's trash.  He's managed to go from a five-tool switch-hitting SS prospect to a guy best suited as a mediocre LF.  Having a career year at 29 doesn't change that.

I wouldn't spend good money, and I'm guessing most teams won't, but he could help himself if he still looks like a guy who can hit. Might convince somebody to roll the dice on "figured it out" rather then "got lucky" as an explanation for last year's offense.  Now, were the Nats to sign him, I'd be [annoyed] because I'd rather give regular reps at this stage to one of our potential 4th outfielder quality guys and not make the kind of commitment he wants, but for some other team, he might just be another high variance guy they hope to optimize on.

He alternates decent years and awful ones.  For a 30-year-old corner outfielder, that's not worth much at all.  There's not much upside for a team like the Nats: the best you can hope is he plays up to a contract and you can trade him for a lottery ticket.  More likely he's this year's Nelson Cruz.
