How cool was that. I wish Trout had gotten hold of one but what a way to end it.

Picture perfect slider to finish off Trout.

Fun stuff. I thought the USA had a rally going against Darvish after the Schwarber homer and Trea got on. Realmuto GIDP was the killer. Too bad they weren't in a shift. That ground ball to the right side would have gone through.

I'm sure both managers were told in no uncertain terms by WBC authorities that Mike Trout must bat against Ohtani at some point. Glad they were able to make it happen in a very organic way. Ohtani was throwing triple digits for the entire at-bat until the final breaking pitch that got the K.

I blame the US loss on that Alex Rodriguez interview with Trea Turner during the pregame. Lawd, I forgot how absolutely creepy A-Rod is. Unnatural.

so with Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber, Team USA can't win a championship. Time to trade everyone to San Diego for prospects.

that was an incredible pitch, the cut down and away made it completely unhittable (well, for anyone other than Howie Kendrick).

Isn't Howie now with Philly, too? Bryce, Turner, Howie, and one of the two worthwhile pieces we picked up after 2019. At least Philly knows a good place to raid.

I think that, before the interview, when the cameras were off, A-Rod gave Trea some career advice. "Look, you are great, but if you want to be the best of your generation, you need an edge, like I got before I was suspended. The masking agents are better now. Just talk to Boras."

He and Big Papi picked the USA. Nails in the coffin.

Have no clue were the choices of starter were, but putting in someone on the young end who might not have set the world on fire tempered expectations out of the gate

I'd like to see Howie become the Nats manager after this season.
