Steve Ballmer announces that the LA Clippers will broadcast 70 of 84 regular season 2022-23 games on their own streaming service called ClipperVision. Cost is $199 per season.

I'd buy a Nats streaming service for $5-10 for month, but that seems exorbitant.

If it allows you to drop cable isn’t that worth $20-25 a month?

"One of the six channel feeds will be dedicated to the team’s traditional linear cable TV coverage via Bally Sports. Two more are dedicated to Spanish-language and Korean-language coverage of live games – with the Korean team anchoring from a studio in Seoul.

Another feed is an alternative view of the game — akin to ESPN’s new spin on “Monday Night Football” with Peyton and Eli Manning – dubbed “Ballervision,” that will feature NBA alums Jamal Crawford, Baron Davis and others chopping it up live as the game unfolds. Ballmer, well known for his over-the-top courtside displays of his love for the Clippers and basketball in general, will also join them periodically to weigh in."

If I was a big Clippers fan, this would be worth it to me

not for one team's broadcasts.

There are plenty of people who only have cable for a local sports team. I doubt the clippers are that team for many, but if other teams start doing it, I think some teams will have takers

i have cable for live sports and news. If i could stream MASN I might consider dropping cable for something like Sling or YouTube TV but I don't see much of a difference anymore between the streaming services and cable TV. With my Verizon FiOS TV subscription they now throw in ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+, so if I were to get rid of FiOS I'd have to pay for those services if I wanted to keep them.

I have Hulu TV and feel old because almost all of the younger people I know don’t bother with any live service. I’d probably drop it if ESPN plus had more streaming rights

my kids do watch live sports (football, basketball, hockey, baseball and college sports). But most of their friends only watch TikTok.  How long before a sports league starts streaming games in 30 second clips to TT?

At some point, he’ll be a pacer in exchange for the laker’s picks

The wizards trade of him to LA was a Turner-like steal. Kuz is going to be an all star this year.

Kuzma is one of those guys who never quite takes that step up to the next level. They will not be in a position to sign him and therefore he will be gone at the trade deadline.

Not sure anyone else noticed but they missed the deadline to extend Rui. Another enigma. Talented guy who seems to lack the drive and perhaps has some other issues. And now Deni is also out. Did not see the opener but sounds like Morris plays defense and even Beal tried some of that. Meanwhile the first round pick looks like a bust.

Nothing like a team that fights and claws for a playin seed. Not good enough to do anything, not bad enough for a meaningful draft pick (even then, we just love those super low ceiling guys)

Which one? Porter was the last decent pick they had

The latest one. Davis. I believe he shot 1-21 in preseason.  After he looked terrible in summer league. The last few all have weaknesses but at least showed a few flashes.

The Spurs cut their 2021 top pick (#12 overall), no word yet as to why but it wasn't basketball-related

And they removed all merchandise bearing his name from the online store and are refusing to comment any further on him. This coming only two weeks after they guaranteed his contract for next year. He says he’s taking time away to treat mental health problems, but the team wouldn’t have released him and gone to the aforementioned lengths to not mention him if it was that simple; he would have just gone on a leave of absence and they probably would have issued a statement supporting him if it was that simple. I think that not only must he have done something really bad, but the team must have ironclad evidence that he did it.

Apparently court records in Texas aren’t available until Monday. This has to be an arrest or an investigation for something heinous

Multiple instances of exposing himself to women. Clearly he just needs to change sports and sign with the Cleveland Browns.

Prince and Princess of Wales attended the Celtics-Heat game last night.  William seemed to enjoy watching Jayson Tatum, even getting captured on camera saying "he's quite good" to Kate.  Kate seemed to more like she was doing something obligatory, politely clapping when the crowd was reacting.  They sat with Governor-elect Healey, who played professionally in Europe before going on the lawyer/ politician track.
