Swinging at the first pitch from a guy who loaded the bases with no one out seems unwise. I know, 20/20 hindsight and all...

Bucknor has done his usual bad job. Luckily, we've benefited more this time, but that doesn't mean he still shouldn't be called out.

Franny with the lengthy defense of Bucknor.

Mets announcers have officially gone into their "this game is out of hand" time-wasting talks. Their field announcer just asked the booth the origin of a series of baseball terms: can of corn, Texas leaguer, Baltimore chop, and southpaw.

A pleasure to listen to all of it.

Bottom of the 9th and that's it. Finnegan?

And Davey has found the right spot for Mcgee: ahead by six or behind by six

Jerry Blevins, Old Silly Hat, is now an analyst on Mets Post-game. "I have to give it to the Washington Nationals. They really grinded out the at-bats..."

A six-game losing streak in the wake of the trade deadline, but 11-12 after that. Not good by a large measure, but I suppose there are rays of hope there for the sunshine brigade.
