The Mets traded for Mays in about 1973. He was finished, but I went to Shea and cheered for him. That Met team caused me to pay attention to baseball again, so I'll never forget "Ya gotta BELIEVE!" and all the rest. Have to remind myself that Mays was on the roster, though.
