I'm not calling him a bust but I see him as a relief pitcher. Maybe our closer of the future.

That's actually about 86 days left in the season. I think Zuck or somebody calculated that due to accruing time on the IL, he can't be called up and get > 86 days service or else the Nats lose a year of control. Figure the ASB or maybe when Soroka is dealt.

Honestly, I think someone will be hurt before then, but they can plug Lord in for that.

figured as much. I thought maybe they want Cavalli to debut at home. They have the Red Sox at home through 7/6, so I suppose he could start one of the last 3 games before the road trip leading into the ASB. The counter argument would be to save a few more innings so he could go deeper into the year, which you could do keeping him down through the ASB. I think you are probably right.

11 batters through 3. Highlight has been getting a ground out from Roman Anthony on a 6 pitch at bat. Threw him 5 fastballs. No one challenges Anthony like that. Drew raves from the WooSox announcers

I think it's totally fair to try and recoup something after giving a guy almost 5 million for one MLB start
