So Arte ain't selling now. I'm guessing that unless you are Steve Cohen, a money-is-no-object type of billionaire, and you aren't buying a "storied" franchise in a major metropolitan area, the ship has sailed on high dollar team sales. I think the Nats are there too, and this is why I bet the "sell a minority stake to Ted Leonsis and over time have him buy us out" is the way to go. Less risk for the new owners, and especially with TV rights being an issue and big contracts still on the books for the Nats, the Guardians approach just seems to make more sense.

The Phoenix Suns just sold for $4 billion. I think that combined with the Angels no-sale shows how much trouble baseball is really in. What does a sport that has no real national audience do when monetizing local audiences no longer works?
