MiLB Scouting Report:
Quote
Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run: 40 | Arm: 50 | Field: 55 | Overall: 40

Boissiere arrived on the University of Arizona campus in the fall of 2018 and never stopped hitting from there, finishing with a .355/.434/.488 line over 117 career games with the Wildcats. His best numbers (.369/.451/.506, five homers) came as a junior, prompting the Nats to select him in the third round and sign him for below slot at $600,000. Boissiere stumbled out of the gate at Low-A Fredericksburg, going 17-for-85 (.200), but that’s not unheard of for a college player settling into the pro game after a long spring.

Boissere earned solid reviews in the Grand Canyon State for his impressive approach against collegiate pitchers. He posted near-equal K/BB ratios all three years, an indication of his willingness to work a walk while limiting his punchouts. His slugging numbers won’t open any eyes on their own, but he’s capable of above-average raw power from the left side. It’s pop that plays to all fields too, so he could see 15-20 homers in the Majors at his peak.

The left-handed thrower, who will be 22 for the entire season to come, had some experience as a corner outfielder in his early NCAA days but was a full-time first baseman in college and the pros last year. He possesses the agility to be an above-average glove at the cold corner, adding another way he can provide value. He’ll still need to fulfill every bit of his hitting potential and maybe squeeze a little more power to meet the offensive requirements of the position.

1B is the thinnest position in our entire farm so any glimmer of hope of Boissiere would be great. Everything I have read on BB makes it sound like he is a very solid defensive 1B, maybe get him to the AFL and see if he can start next year in Harrisburg? Mendoza is a lost cause, Meregildo is showing some pop and currently in AA so he is probably the only guy ahead of BB at 1B in the org right now.

You're missing a few Es in this one, his first name is Branden and there is an e at the end of his last name as well.

Start in Wilmington next year. See if he swims.

With DH, less need for 1B to be a slugger.

thanks, fixed.  MiLB has him ranked as our #19 prospect, though they still haven't added this year's draftees.

Yeah Wilmington makes more sense and that is a good point factoring in the DH. We have plenty of DHs in the system, need someone who isn't a liability at 1B.
