Had the opportunity to watch Jen Pawol as the home plate umpire at the Senators-BaySox game Wednesday night. It was great to see a female umpire get a chance to show that she can do the job. Hope to see her in the majors sooner rather than later.

What level is she at now?

She’s been at Triple A. She worked Home Plate at the Triple A championship game last night.

Jen Pawol is going places. She’s been invited to umpire games at the major league level at Spring Training this year. She’s also been named Crew Chief at AAA level for the upcoming season.

Coming up on February 24th, the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals will play a historic spring training contest. That's the day that Jen Pawol will serve as an umpire, becoming the first woman to be assigned to a Major League spring training game since 2007!
