Anibal was a former Red Sox prospect. You think he was inspired by the 28 run, 29 hit game to see if he could meet that standard?

Damage limited. Now it's time for the offense to step up and ...  :bang: :spaz:  :glug: :hang:   :hammer:

Sorry, I couldn't finish that statement without smashing my head against the keyboard.

You know, I thought that Kelly homer was going to end up in that stupid triangle and be caught.

So, echoing Bob's question, does Aníbal come back out in the bottom of the inning?

And should he?

Might as well take whatever advantage one can from having Helen Keller as home plate umpire

My follow-up question would have been, is Aníbal at 93 pitches any worse an option as any of our "fresh" bullpen arms?

he's a reliever. most of the time, that means he's inconsistent and not capable of as much as a good starter.

If one looks at his game log, a clear trend is there: if only given a single inning, he's usually okay.  More than that, he's garbage.  Today's one of those days he was likely going in thinking he'd need to eat two innings.

Course ya gotta eat one first, champ.

This is the way the game ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.

Because Andres Machado might be better at churning through wieners than through lineups?
