Bats: R Throws: R Height: 6' 2" Weight: 230 lb.
Undrafted in 2020 Draft Class, signed out of Virginia Tech

As a fellow Hokie, I must admit I don't remember Brzykcy at all in college, but he has been a bright spot of the farm system in 2022. I have read his fastball sits 94-96 and can touch high 90s at times.

Started 2022 in Wilmington -- 21.2 IP 1.66 ERA 39 SO 10 BB
Promoted to Harrisburg -- 17.1 IP 1.04 ERA 25 SO 8 BB

Definitely someone to keep an eye on, look out for him in a "Bully 2023" Thread near you!

He has a 0.77 ERA with a 0.94 WHIP since moving up to AA, 31 Strikeouts over 23 innings.

Checks in at #24 on the MiLB prospect list for us. Since getting promoted to Harrisburg in early June: 28.1 IP, 40Ks, 15 BBs, 1.59 ERA / 1.06 ERA

Seems like we're going to see him in DC sooner rather than later.

Double-A Harrisburg placed Brzykcy (forearm) on its full-season injured list April 6.

According to Andrew Golden of The Washington Post, Brzykcy was scheduled to meet with a doctor Wednesday before determining his next steps for treating a right forearm strain, but the Nationals have seemingly already ruled out the possibility of the 23-year-old pitching this season. With that in mind, Brzykcy is presumably in line to undergo a procedure of some sort, though it's not yet known if Tommy John surgery is in the cards. Regardless, the forearm injury is a tough setback for Brzykcy, one of the organization's more promising reliever prospects.
