2-for-4 with a double and an RBI tonight. Hitting lifted to .245 with .708 OPS. Recovering, or maybe adjusting to pro-ball

All Green ha to do is hit .240 at the mlb level.  If he does that he’ll run into at least 20 homers, steal 40 bases, and play at least slightly above average defense.  Think like a prime Chris young with more power or a kris davis with massive speed

I'm hoping for 30 homers with his power, but we will see over the next couple seasons.

Indeed.

I keep comparing him to our own Harmon Killebrew, signed at 17 and stuck on the major league team for two seasons because he signed for a bonus. And, of course, Killebrew is in the Hall of Fame. Green has plenty of time to learn, and if he becomes really good but not an all-time great, then that is plenty good enough.

Let him start next season at Fred-burg.

I asked a few days ago about precedent for players striking out as much as Green and still becoming productive major leaguers. Killebrew aside it doesn't look like there's much. From Fangraphs' report on the Nats' farm system on Green:

Only a few current major league hitters have in-zone contact rates as low as Green does and none of them struck out anywhere near this much in the low minors, instead getting worse as they climbed and reached the big leagues where the best pitchers live.
