Last 10 games: 38PAs, .345 / .500 / .690, 3HRs, 3SBs, 11Ks, 9BBs, 3HRs in his last 2 games.

Definitely some improvement. .941 OPS overall at the FCL.

Under 30 K%, admittedly against complex pitching

Homer, single, and K today, FCL OPS over 1.000 in 58 PAs.  Insanely good 4.4 P/PA but K rate still on the high side.

SiriusXM Loud Outs were talking about him today, mentioned all the concerns at draft time about his swing and miss, but weren't quite ready to give up on him.

he's 21, far too soon to give up on him.

I wonder what NIL he could get from SEC football.  He would have to make a decision soon

Nice return to Fredricksburg today:
- 1-3, BB, K, 3B in game 1
- 2-3 in the second

So 3-6 total with just 1K

The only relevant stat for Elijah Green: Ks / PA.

Since recall to Fredericksburg (1st game 7/20), he's had 32 PAs and K'd 9 times. 28.1 K%. It's a start. For comparison, his 2 full seasons in 2023 and 2024 and his start of 2025 in Wilmington, his K% was >40%.

It’s his third go-around at low A. He’s a year older than Zim was in 2005.

average age for A-ball players is 18-22, so he's in the range. He was at A+ before being sent to the FCL so hopefully he's back in A+ soon.

at this point, anything he does other than blocking better OFs in the minors is found money. He'll go down as the classic "what's wrong with the Nats organization " pick, with everyone projecting onto him their gripe about the organization after the Giolito draft.

again though, Green was a highly rated prospect that year and most mocks had him as a high first round pick. He wasn't a head scratcher or reach pick.

which is why I said people would project onto him their gripe. That'll happen even if it wasn't as unconventional and a reach as Seaver King or even Willits.

Pretty much. The flip side of green is Konnor griffin. If you take the raw tools thigh schooler, you gotta be ready for them to be a total k-happy bust, the best prospect in baseball in short order, or anywhere in between

That's a good sign.  Usually the higher the low minors prospect gets ranked, the more likely they are to bust with this org.

It looks like he got some kind of Darnell speech to be more aggressive.  So his K's are down a little, but so are his walks, with his OBP at Fredericksburg now at .242.  He is beyond what anything this org's weak coaching can do.
