heck of a first batting practice:

Reports to the ST complex on Monday.

Real Chris Marrero-hitting-homers-at-RFK energy.

I'll start getting real excited about this kid when he makes to Fredericksburg and has a good stretch. We desperately need a power hitting prospect.

Juan Soto still the good soldier in the clubhouse.

That's a really nice looking swing. Compact, barrel to ball, quick hands.

2-3 with 2 line drive singles and a BB is infinitely more encouraging than 1-4 with a moonshot HR and 3 strikeouts.

Is FCL a hitter paradise? I remember Brady House lighting it up last year. Not sure if real talent or just any decent prospect will rake.

It is if you're a top draft pick. Its basically the same level (or lower) you were playing at three months ago.

Any data on the pitches he’s faced? Curious about velocity / success against harder throwing pitchers

Reason I asked is because against velocity he had 40% miss rate as an amateur.

It's not really a fair stat as it's small sample size (53 pitches > 92mph) and they don't see consistent velo as an amateur. Especially at that 92mph cutoff.

Encouraging to see such a nice triple slash this early, and the Miss % isn't surprising. I'm amateur at evaluating obviously, but his swing really looks like one that can play to more contact as he matures.
