As I mentioned during Gray's last start, Scherzer won the Cy Young while leading the NL in homeruns allowed. Strikeout pitchers who pound the zone are going to have their mistakes go far.

Gray's home run rate is almost double what Scherzer's was. Gray isnt "pounding the zone." He's leaving a below average fastball up in the zone.
