Nationals vs. Braves, Game 1
« Topic Start: July 14, 2022, 06:54:23 PM »

     vs.

Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves
Where: Nationals Park
When: July 14, 7:05 PM EDT
Weather: 81°F, 50% chance of precipitation
TV: MASN
Radio: 106.7 FM

Pitching Match-Up:
Aníbal Sánchez (RHP) - versus - Kyle Wright (RHP, 10-4, 2.97)

Wright beat the Nationals last Saturday, going 7 innings and giving up 8 hits, 2 walks and 3 earned runs.

Aníbal has not started a MLB game since 2020. In his 3 Rochester starts, he pitched 12 2/3 innings and his longest outing in his last six MLB starts in 2020 was 5 1/3 innings, so even if he is reasonably effective tonight, I would not expect a long outing.

I am not a pitching expert, but throwing 84-85 in the middle of the zone does not seem wise to me.

I hope that Davey read my scouting report and does not consider sending Aníbal back out in the sixth.

Took them a while to get used to the slow speed.

I’m fine with him going but he ran right into the tag. The inside of the plate was wide open and he ran right into the catcher. It’s insanely dumb base running.

Didn’t adjust his slide at all. Slid right into a wide throw.

Franny spotted it. He slid there because he took way to wide a turn at third. That resulted in the angle. And either the on deck batter didnt signal him to slide towards the pitcher's side, or Garcia didnt see it.

Yep. Great throw but bad baserunning.

You forgot that the bullpen sucks also.  Six of one and half dozen of the other.

Watching the Yanks and Reds.  Good game.
