I don't have a large sample size of games watched, but it sure seems the team is more competitive and engaged when Gray is pitching.

If they were to take Kumar Rocker the teams future rotation would be pretty interesting. Cavalli, Henry, Rocker, Rutledge and potentially Tetreault.

I was at the game last night. Only game I'll get to this year, and boy howdy, what a good one to go to. I had to leave in the middle of the 6th because, I live over an hour away and, well, early morning for kid number 1 and kid number 2 continues to wreck my wife's insides. (Aside, ONLY 8 more weeks!)

Gray is a monster. I was teaching my mom how to understand more advanced stats (I told her don't look at ERA or Batting Average, start looking at things like K/9, BB/9, BAA, OPS) and explained why Gray was so nasty. Showed her the BB/9 for him was too high, but he is young and hopefully gets that under control. Also told her his HR/9 is too high, just like Scherzer's. When he started dealing, she started to really get it. She said she thinks Nola wasn't good and I stopped her, I was like, dude is definitely dealing, and he is second in innings pitched to Sandy Alcantara, he just didn't get a bunch of strikeouts last night and gave up some weak hits that ended up hurting him. Still dominant, but not as dominant as Gray was.

Did she boo Mike Schmidt?  LOL.

He did have an off year last season and that probably influences most of the fans.

I was listening to one of the Philly talk shows yesterday and they want the GM to pick up a CF, SP and RP. And get guys controllable for a couple years. But not give up any top prospects. And make the deals now and don’t wait for the deadline. Last year at this time it was how Harper was not living up to his contract.  I am sure they bash Nola also. I lost several IQ points yesterday listening.

Once we left the game we listened to the Phillies radio team call the game. It was awful. They didn't even have Larry Anderson, and somehow, it was worse without him.

I really like Frantzke.  Much better than cackling Tom McCarthy who does the TV.   LA has gotten grumpier. He is part time now and may be retiring. With Frandsen gone they are doing tryouts. Which I believe is what happened when they hired him. Think more teams should just hire two play by play guys as the Nats do.
