Well, Kispert has been decent. Davis has looked decent as well. Deni vacillates between looking like Scotty Pippen and Pippy Longstocking. Rui is finally contributing in LA after a slow start. They are all role players, not superstars, but none were drafted higher than 9.
Would you rather be Detroit who has drafted #5 & #13, and #1 in the last two years and is still awful?
Detroit has a path up. If their young guys develop, they will be decent, it just takes a few years for guys to develop. How far down the Detroit roster do you have to get before they'd say yes to a straight up trade for any Wizards player? Over the next 5 years, the Wizards are positioned worst than just about any other NBA team. Our super max star isn't isn't a star, but he's getting paid like one. None of our recent pick look like they will ever be a major part of a winning team. The guys that we traded for are about to be very overpaid, either here or elsewhere. If they stay, we'll be a luxury tax payer whose ceiling is the play in. If they don't, we finally have a chance at a rebuild, but we don't have any excess draft capital.
