It’s still crazy to think the Nats gave up three of their top arms in the farm system for Eaton. Although I do believe the injuries robbed us of the real version of Eaton.

It's not like they gave up cy young talent

Oh, wait.

But who could have predicted the best high school arm could develop into that good of a pitcher?

It was a terrible trade that had a good result. Still terrible trade though.

Bell’s arm reminds me of Zim…and not in a good way.

The Glenn Davis trade is still to me the benchmark of terrible trades.

Souza for Ross/Turner tops that imho. And Smoltz for Doyle Alexander

After leaving Baltimore:

Pete Harnisch - 95-81, 3.78 ERA, 11 shutouts, 1166 Ks in 270 games
Curt Schilling - 215-140, 3.43 ERA, 20 shutouts, 3074 Ks in 525 games, 3 WS, WS MVP
Steve Finley - 2375 hits, 299 HRs, 1105 RBI, 281 steals in 2360 games, 1 WS

Glenn Davis in Baltimore: 185 games in three seasons, .248/.312/.400 with 24 HRs, 85 RBI

Also, with 1B opened up, Houston was able to bring up that rookie Jeff Bagwell.

On the other side, though, while the O's lost big, the Astros didn't get all the benefits they might have. They traded Schilling after only 1 year to the Phillies for Jason Grimsley, who never played for Houston and whom they released outright, and it was the Phillies who converted Schilling into a starter.

Harnisch and Finley had a few good seasons in Houston, though.

Is anybody concerned that Soto is hitting .210? Could actually bode well for the Nats if he continues this nosedive. Maybe his price comes down a bit.

Phillies traded Ferguson Jenkins for Bob Buhl and Larry Jackson. Two mediocre pitchers who were soon out of the league. Jenkins went to the HOF. Then they decided giving the Cubs one HOFer was not enough so they traded them Ryne Sandberg for Ivan De Jesus.
