Tetreault

So does he stick around? I, for one, hope so. He looked like a totally different animal yesterday than in his first start. Confident, working fairly quickly, not afraid to challenge hitters with his fastball. Might be the best we have right now outside of Gray.

Tetrault gives the Nats some breathing space not to rush in with Cavalli or adding a Jefry Rodriguez or Sterling Sharp.

Feb. 16: RHP Jackson Tetreault not yet throwing off mound
Tetreault has been throwing, but not off the mound, as he works his way back from a right scapula stress fracture he suffered last season.

“He’s actually going through the motions, but we don’t want him throwing to the bases yet,” Martinez said. “But he’s close. I don’t have a timetable yet, but he’ll be throwing fairly soon off the mound, which is awesome. He worked really hard. It was a weird injury. I never heard of anybody breaking a scapula. He said it was difficult, but he feels great. Now the next thing is to get him back on the mound and start throwing bullpens.”

Source: Jackson Tetreault will begin a rehab assignment in Class-A this week. He pitched for the #Nats last year until he was put on the IL with a stress fracture of his right scapula. Most recently he has been pitching in West Palm Beach to build up his stamina. Last year he pitched in 4 starts for the Nats, and a 5.14 ERA. He throws the cutter, 4-seamer, changeup, and breaking pitch. He is much-needed starter depth.

Good news. I was wondering if the Nats had forgotten Tetreault.

Looking at Rochester, the pitching is awful.

They forgot about Gray, not Tetreault. :)

Pitched tonight for Wilmington. Gave up three runs in three innings. But he's alive. Bats were dead though: 4 hits and no runs. Wood got two of the four.
