Location was good on all the pitches. Let’s give him time.

The far more concerning thing I have is Rogers is not at all doing well this season and they can’t seem to do anything against this bum at the plate

Small sample size
The Strasburg we all knew is gone. The best we're going to get is a ~4 ERA

Struck out the side. Strasburg is not done.

I think he looks pretty darned good. A bunt, a couple of seeing-eye grounders, and one hard-hit ball in the first. Shut em down in the 2nd. I’m optimistic.

Even at 90 percent he is better than anyone else
On the staff other than gray (if gray keeps improving)

This isn’t 90 percent Stras.   This is like 75 percent.  He’s in the 80s on most of his fastballs

So he's lost some velo.  You can't eat Strasburgers forever

Stras is smart and has stuff. If he tops out at 93 but mixes it up, he'll still be a good-to-very-good pitcher. No one lasts forever.

I’ve seen low 90s on the tv gun. Those 80s and 70s are off speed pitches

There was a time when a guy like Stras or Corbin could be effective for a few more years by being crafty with a low 90s fastball.   Now he's significantly worse than whatever combination of 2-3 no-namers pitch the first 6 innings for most of Tampa's games.  I hope I'm wrong, because I would love to watch Strasburg become relevant again and really hate what mlb starting pitching is turning into.  I just don't see Strasburg ever being an important piece on a winning team.

Did Dave announce a pitch limit for Stras?

no, but they are doing their best to make sure he doesn't have to pitch in the playoffs
