Other than his brilliant stretch in October 2019, I think Davey has been a bottom-tier manager his entire tenure. I just don't see what the point would be to fire him this season. It's a throwaway season and we have a dead-man-walking, ownership group that has abandoned the organization.
Such a damn shame that ownership didn't give Rizzo even close to an MLB average budget this season. We're $60-65 million below average last time I checked. Imagine what that money could have done to transform this lineup. We'd still be no where close to a big spending team but we'd be right in the wildcard hunt.
