Very well played. After things clearly went to hell following the run to a title the next best thing was to blow it up, you can see what happens w/the wiz or redskins when a team lives in denial and tries to perpetually build through short cuts (in fairness, the caps are screwing it up the same way, but at least they managed to win a Cup along the way).
I have to say I'm pretty much pleased as punch w/how they handled things following the title in '19. Once it became clear it was hopeless they blew up the roster at the deadline last year, earned themselves a great draft pick two years in a row ('21 and '22 classes) and probably in '23 as well (looks likely to be top 5 or so for now with #1 overall potential), and began the process to restock a completely bone dry farm system immediately rather than coasting through years of denial.
Yep, it sucks now, but the approach they've used gives us a chance to turn this around in a couple of years, rather than float around in irrelevancy for decades on end like the Wiz, or Redskins/WFT/etc.
