Thanks for all your well-wishes.

Are we going to see any offense this series (excluding inning 1 of game 1)?
Lots of offense. From the Mets.

Remember when the offense was at least good?

Is it just the eye test or has Soto regressed a bit in the field? Maybe because he has gotten bigger?

I remember Carp back in 2018 or 2019 reporting Bob Henley said the Nats could put Soto in CF if needed. And I didn’t find it totally absurd. That has changed.

Oof. Icing that thing?
It's my fault. I did not know it was a day game, and only tuned in just in time for the Mets to score.

In other news, I severely twisted my ankle this morning while on a long walk, and then my phone died, so I had to limp three miles back. I am now loopy from pain medication and staring at the balloon that was my ankle.

If I heard correctly, Amber Heard won one element of her countersuit. $15 miillion judgment against her, $2 million judgment against Depp. Net win for Depp, leaving aside reputation matters.

Now back to baseball.

Day game??

Ukraine is smothering Scotland on the other channel.  The score (1-0) does not reflect how one-sided it has been.

I had forgotten it was a day game. Take the pain medication and stay loopy. Best way to watch the Nats this year. And feel better soon, or soonish.

I'd ice the ankle until you can't feel it at all.

Garcia no longer stands like Soto at the plate. Ouch on the K.

"Twenty straight scoreless innings for the Mets' staff", says Gary Cohen. Meaning twenty straight scoreless innings for the Nats.

Yes. I assume the games will be on Fox and ESPN. LOL.

Good luck with the ankle. No one should be subjected to these Nats while hurting. Or maybe we all need pain medication.

Mets announcers think Reds are improving. Said that Cincinnati won its first game at Boston since Game 7 of the 1975 World Series. Only about two games behind the Cubs.

Well that's awful. Nido can't hit, and YadiStar??? What a bad attempted catch.

That play by Yadiel was phenomenal.  If Nido were faster and the game close, he very well could have played a single into an inside the parker.

I don't understand Edwards.  He looks good again now after being absolute dogcrap for a period of years.  How long can it last?
I hope to the trade deadline at a minimum.

Lee K's 2 in MLB debut is the headline on the Nats site.  That's the most exciting thing they can think of.  Haha.  This team is a disaster

This was necessary to offset the 3 of 4 wins against the Rockies.

He was awarded $15 million. Heard won one count of her countersuit and was awarded $2 million. So net $13 million to Depp, assuming anyone actually ever gets paid (besides the lawyers, of course).

The money is pocket-change for him, in terms of salvaging his reputation and potentially getting a big payday with a revitalized acting career. He was paid A$90 million for the last Pirates movie, which was probably around US$50-60 million at the time.
