yes, it was just 2 innings after 2 weeks off.  A ramp up. Messed a little with his high A stats.  17 IP, with a lot of walks in the start before the 2 weeks off.  I'll give him a little chance to ramp back up before I believe he went from a guy with exceptional K/BB to awful just going up a level.  I appreciate Longenhagen's grain of salt, but from his write up it sounds like he called some scout(s) rather than really looked at the guy.  Of course, that's more research than I've done, and his opinion is worth a heck of lot more than mine.

A couple of starts since the last update, the first a 7/14 shelling over 4 IP (6 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, an HBP and a dinger, with 3 Ks), and the second respectable 5 inning loss, giving up  6hits, 2 runs (1 ER), 1 BB, 3 ks. Both 81 pitches, so he's back stretched out.  Odd thing about the last start was he giving up a lot of flies after being a groundball pitcher most of the year.

progress.  Settling in to the higher level (maybe).

"This game was not lost due to a lackluster pitching performance. Blue Rocks starter Rodney Theophile put his best foot forward, pitching six strong innings, allowing only three hits, no earned runs, while striking out five. Unfortunately, the offense would not get going all night, and Theophile’s record would fall to 1-4 on the season." Blue Rocks were shut out in both games.

Theophile has been hit up a bit since being promoted to Wilmington. 5.06 ERA with only 32 SO paired with 26 BB in 42 innings.

Came out of the bullpen this afternoon and threw 2 scoreless innings. May be a better fit in the bullpen

So he goes back top Wilmington? And if he does well, he gets promoted to Harrisburg about July 1?

Wilmington. I don't think he goes back down to Fredericksburg, but he did not do well at A+.  I think he will need to dominate for another half year before he goes to AA

i'll admit i kind of gave up on him after his hot start in f-burg. throws mid-90s. i'll be happy if he takes a slow route up through the system. if he consolidates at Wilmington for a year, maybe gets exposed to AA, then does the same thing in 2024 in Harrisburg, i think he will have exceeded expectations.

Guess who’s been dominating A+? 10 IP,  2 starts, 0.00 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP

this was my favorite thread to set up. I dug through Nicaraguan coverage of his signing. Just doing the deep research was fun. Anything from Theophile is a plus. Zero expectations. If he's organizational depth, then great.
