they eat a lot of bamboo and they draw a lot of visitors.
They probably poop a lot also.

Having to reserve parking ahead of time helps take care of the pesky visitors problem

National Zoo just announced that pandas are returning by the end of the year to the DC by the end of the year. I guess Pablo Sandoval is getting called up?

Panda is currently playing 3rd base for the Staten Island FerryHawks in the Atlantic League. Bet he’d love a call to get back in The Show.

Went to a Profs and Pints talk tonight by Professor Richard Bell from The University of Maryland tonight. The topic is what Hamilton got right and wrong. The lecture lasted about 90 minutes and was absolutely fantastic. P&P puts on a variety of talks in the DC area. Highly recommended.

So, as 'Panda Diplomats' I assume that, as well as looking cute, they'll have to negotiate a new trade deal with the US... :D ('no tariffs on bamboo shoots'...).

do they serve panda?
No, false advertising at its finest.

The problem with pandas is that they're so unreasonable - they see everything in black and white terms... ;)

In all seriousness, Pandas are a fascinating study in evolution. If left alone they likely would have been extinct by now due to their limited diet and struggles to replicate. But because they are cute, humans have intervened to save them. In effect being cute has been their adaptation to ensure their survival.
