Lots of empty seats at Camden Yards even with the BLOS in the race. This is what Nats Park will look like in a couple years.

Btw. Hazel Mae is 52 but still looks great.

Orioles drew 41k on Saturday.

Chris Sale broke his hand in a bike accident over the weekend, he's out for the season.

Isn't that something a major league ballplayer should NOT be doing?

Clippard is a pretty avid cyclist. He used to bike to Nats Park.  Jose Fernandez was also a cyclist too and used to go on long group rides in FLA during the off-season.  Unfortunately, he also boated.  I think guys motorcycle too.

While Jim Lonborg always comes to mind in these cases, biking as a form of exercise and transport seems to be reasonable. I guess some might find it wise to stick to exercise bikes.

Chris "Mayhem" Sales will find a way to fall off an exercise bike.

But he'll do so on Sunday Night Baseball, where they will be playing the Yankees for the fifty-ninth consecutive week.

Not 2022 but just saw this trivia on MLB network.

Which player has the highest OPS+ in the live ball era with a slugging percentage under .400?  If you did not see this on TV and don’t look it up don’t think you will guess it.

No. My guess was Pete Rose. But it’s actually a HOF big slugger.

ok, so SLG incorporates average, so it's likely not a high average guy like Boggs.  Probably somebody with about a .240 average and a .150 ISO, maybe with a good glove.  I was thinking Luis Aparicio, but he's not a slugger.

I was thinking someone with a high OBP and it is but the slugging number is higher than the OBP. Just under .400 and by far the lowest of his career. One of the all time greats and the year was 1968.

Yup. I believe the OPS was +143.  But the OPS was only like .780 but of course that was the year of the pitcher.

Your prize is watching the Nats tonight. Second prize is watching the Nats tonight and tomorrow.

His 1968 statline is like a 2002 Billy Beane wet dream.

my guess was going to be Wil Nieves.

Nick Johnson probably deserves an honorable mention. When he wasn't breaking bones on .. well.. everything... he had an insane OBP. He could work a walk like nobody else.

Walker Buehler out for the year. He’ll have surgery on his elbow. No further details.

Some people here lost their minds about the Soto trade, but the Orioles traded Mancini when they're in the middle of a playoff race, even though they have one of the lowest payrolls in baseball.  Now he's gone off to Houston and he's hitting pretty well for them.

The Woes got two players in return, and one of them was posting an ERA over 5 at high A ball this year, at age 23.

Would have loved to have seen some of the reactions to that one.

Its pretty easy

They offer guys deals before arbitration
They dont deal with Boras
They have a limit and they dont exceed it (see Freeman)
